IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR SPECIAL MARES
Our beloved mare, "Classy Sassy" passed away after a short illness on Sunday, March 2nd, 2003. This outstanding mare was the 1990 Reserve World Grand Champion at the Celebration in Ava, Missouri. She also won the Open Mares Class that same year. We continued to show her for several years at various shows both in Missouri, Nevada and California where she won numerous Championships. There are no words to express our sorrow on the loss of this magnificent mare who contributed so much to this breed. During her lifetime, she gave us eight beautiful foals. Her memory will continue to live on through her foals and all of her numerous grand-foals. She lives with us forever in our hearts. "Classy" was our shinning star and will be greatly missed.
On Thursday, July 31, 2003 after a long illness, we lost one of our great broodmares, "Queen's Diamond Sissy." This beautiful Buckskin mare was a fabulous show horse that won numerous Championships during her lifetime, including the 1977 World Grand Champion Ladies Stakes Class at the Show & Celebration in Ava, Missouri. Over the many years that we owned her, she produced many lovely foals in a variety of colors. We are deeply saddened that "Sissy" is gone from us, but her memory will continue to live on with all of the lovely foals she has produced and with all of her grand foals. "Sissy" was a very special lady with a heart of gold.
On Wednesday, July 21st, 2004 "Chickory's Saffron Silk" or "Saffy" as we fondly called her, passed away after a long illness. She was my very first foxtrotter and a Palomino, which I had dreamed of owning since I was a little girl. I really enjoyed riding this mare, taking her out on trail rides, pack trips, teaching her to pull a carriage and letting everyone from children to novice riders learn what a smooth foxtrot can feel like. During her lifetime, she gave us a variety of foals, many Palomino like herself. Years ago, I showed her in several classes, including some trail classes. "Saffy" was the sweetest horse, with the kindest disposition and truly loved being a broodmare. I will miss my dearest friend and my memories of her will always be close to my heart.
